Ser Humanos is also on the path to initiating change in the existing milieu of inequality in the world, through acts of charity, big and small: benefit performances, events, public relations and, above all, a promise of engagement and optimism.
The main focus for the association is the social project PLAN DE
REDISTRIBUCIÓN POBLACIONAL PARA FAMILIAS DE BARRIOS URBANO-MARGINALES: CONSTRUCCIÓN DE COMUNIDADES RURALES PRODUCTIVAS AUTOSUSTENTABLES in Córdoba Argentina. Its mission statement is to get people out of the "Villas" (shantytowns) and to give them the possibility of shelter in newly-built residential areas. In doing so, we hope to give families a new outlook on life and society as well as a more stable environment in which to nurture their families.
"Villas" is the Argentian term for slums, which are often characterised by lack of access to vital resources such as decent healthcare, basic schooling, infrastructural development and sufficient food, not to mention a high unemployment rate.
Corruption and hazardous legal procedures complicate matters further. As a result, money from international organisations often exacerbates the poverty of the people who it aims to help. | |
This hopeless situation of financial inequality has an immense influence on social life in Argentina. It promotes crime and often endorses power in the wrong places. With social structures abused and broken, integrative national strength is lost and vast inequality becomes the norm.
Our aim is to build up lasting settlements in proximity to the city, so as to allow access to the essential elements of care. Thus interpersonal relations (between people and services) are finally given a fairer chance.
We try, by concentrating energy and motivation to secure the financial means required to organise materials, as well as voluntary assistants who are urgently needed for the realisation of this plan. We establish ambitious goals because we know that the existing differences between arm and empire can be improved, that it is simply a matter of making some basic changes.
With this in mind, we want to show by voluntary, honourary work that dreams and long-term objectives can be realised. Our association hopes that PUEBLO - HOGAR AMOR will serve beyond its own sake, by providing an example, which illustrates the realisation potential of social projects generally. We know that the world can be changed. We simply need to build upon our wealth of ideas and, through refining them and focusing energy and optimisim, we can move closer to an ideal of cooperation and exchange.
